BENEFITS OF DENTURES
Dentures are extremely safe and possess high dental restorative properties.
They are a highly-customizable dental solution that preserves the strength of the gums, maintains the integrity of your jaws and provides external support to your existing teeth. They are also inexpensive and relatively pain-free.
Visit Somi Dental Group & Orthodontics for a dental assessment. Our dentists will take a look at your teeth and advise you about whether you make a good candidate for dentures or not.
Dentures work best when they are fitted to your teeth perfectly. Our dentists sit with you and take your exact dental measurements to ensure that your dentures fit perfectly. We also include a fit session, where we use a preliminary set of dentures for you to test and check if they are comfortable to use. Once you give us the green light, we go ahead and construct the permanent dentures which our experts will later fit for you.
You can trust Somi Dental Group to provide the utmost in family-like care and professional attention to all your dental health needs.
We use state-of-the-art equipment and technology to design and mold the dentures. Our team uses only medical-grade materials when making your dentures. If you’d like to see a few samples of how our dentures look and how our patients’ teeth improve in appearance post-treatment, feel free to take a look at the before & after pictures in our gallery.
TYPES OF DENTURES
Full or complete dentures
These are removable dentures that are molded to form the entire set of a patient’s teeth. They are held in place using suction technology.
Partial dentures
These dentures are made only when certain sets of teeth need replacement. They are linked using a metal or acrylic band and will be held in place using either resin or metal clasps.
Bridges
This is a tooth that comes with the crown. It is fixed on top of the existing broken tooth using dental cement. It is perfect when you need an individual tooth to be replaced.
Implants
This is a permanent denture that is created and fixed into your jaw using titanium abutments. They cannot be removed, and they mimic the functionality of real teeth.
WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN GETTING DENTURES
Depending on your personal needs, Dr. Lopez may extract teeth which are decaying or infected. In this case, more often than not, you will be getting permanent dentures. Before the permanent dentures are installed, you will be fitted with temporary or “immediate” dentures. These are dentures you will wear for the first two to three months. This process of installing temporary dentures can be extremely helpful for people who have suffered with sensitive teeth and gums since the patient will not have to be without teeth while waiting for his or her permanent dentures.
These temporary dentures may take four to five dental visits prior to tooth extraction. After the gums are healed post-extraction, the permanent dentures are installed and will match the patient’s mouth exactly. But because the gums will shrink during the healing process, it is very common for the fit of temporary dentures to change. It’s not something to worry about at all.
WHY DENTURES MAY BE THE RIGHT CHOICE FOR YOU
Missing teeth can cause a host of issues in both functionality and social interaction. Not only can they affect the way you talk, chew and swallow, missing teeth can prevent you from smiling and harm your self-esteem. Full and partial dentures can go a long way in helping you to speak, chew and swallow better, and more importantly can help restore your confidence in showing off your pearly whites!
Partial dentures can help improve your:
- Facial Aesthetics
- Tissue and jaw development
- Speech pattern
- Self-esteem
