BOCA RATON
Introducing a new take on braces: Fastbraces
A set of perfectly aligned teeth can take years off your face, unfortunately, not all of us are blessed with excellent teeth. The good news is, there is a way to correct improperly aligned teeth and restore them to the right position.
No, we’re not talking about traditional braces, but Fastbraces in Boca Raton.
Dental malocclusions or misaligned teeth, if untreated, can lead to the development of very serious dental conditions like periodontal disease and temporomandibular joint disorders. Additionally, they can affect your face’s shape and impact your appearance, causing intense emotional distress.
Fastbraces, also called accelerated braces, are a state-of-the-art dental brace which can assist with dental realignment. They are highly-effective, acting very quickly upon the teeth, so you get beautiful straight teeth within weeks.
Developed in 1992, Fastbraces have helped thousands of patients with dental malocclusions achieve the cosmetic relief they seek. At Somi Dental Group, our Boca Raton orthodontists have extensive experience fitting Fastbraces to people of all ages. Feel free to visit our clinic for premium-quality orthodontic treatment.
Traditional braces vs Fastbraces
Fastbraces are very different from conventional braces. Traditional braces use many clunky metal brackets, wires, and screws to hold the teeth and the roots in place and push them back in. The braces are first fitted to push back the crowns and then adjusted to realign the roots. It can take up to 2 to 3 years before conventional braces give you the desired results.
Fastbraces, on the other hand, are designed differently. Fastbraces consist of special square-shaped wires that are inserted in triangle-shaped brackets. These wires reach from the top of your teeth down to the roots, allowing both the tooth and the root to be simultaneously realigned. The wires used in Fastbraces are highly-elastic, automatically expanding and contracting as your teeth are aligned. This helps treat your teeth quickly. Additionally, the uniquely-shaped brackets and elastic wires create enough space for your teeth and roots to shift position over a few weeks, ensuring there is no damage to the gums and jaw. Because of this, Fastbraces can yield significant results in a short time as 3 months.

Invisalign vs Fastbraces
Fastbraces, while very effective, are still visible braces. So, you may be wondering why you shouldn’t choose Invisalign clear aligners instead. While Invisalign is a great treatment option, these aligners aren’t ideal if you seek fast results.
Fastbraces are designed to help reduce the appearance of uneven bites and teeth crowding within a few weeks. You’ll start noticing small changes in the way your teeth look and even changes in your facial structure within just 2 to 3 weeks after getting Fastbraces in Boca Raton.
With Invisalign, this is not possible. While Invisalign aligners are less noticeable, they don’t provide the force necessary to push your teeth and roots back in-place quickly. It can take 12 to 18 months to see results with Invisalign. Additionally, if you have severe dental alignment issues, Invisalign may not be a good treatment option.
